I'm a Manager now, so what do I do now?
Managing a team takes a lot of responsibility both
Administrative and Active Coaching. We are here to make things a little easier
for you so you can concentrate on coaching the kids. Here are some resources
to help you. There is a wealth of information on this website to help you get
started. You may want to:
1. Download your team schedule, extra
sponsorship forms, volunteer applications, current rules, etc. These are all
found on the website.
2. Setup a Lesson/Coaching Plan Timeline.
(Stretching, Warm-ups, Ball/Bat/Play Drills, and Live Play Drills)
3. Parent/Guardian Meeting. This meeting occurs
before the start of the season. This meeting is important and a good time to
assign parents/guardians administrative and active roles during the season.
This is a good time to also hand out forms and voice expectations of yourself
and the parents/guardians. Use the following forms below to help you run the
meeting.
Here is a link for a
Parent/Team Meeting letter to use as a template to help convey the
upcoming season.

4. Practice, Opening Day, and Season. By the
time Opening Day starts you should have your administrative
obligations taken cared of and had some practices with your
team. Now is your ready to start the season strong.
5. Game Days.
Use a Sub-Sheet to
plan and keep track of the positions of each player for a particular game.
Use this general purpose excel template replacing the italicized player
position for the player's name. Also keep track of any notes and runs,
etc... for each inning as the game progresses. Planning the games
ahead of time will help your games run smoothly, and allows you to focus on
the game.
Practice Tips and Instructions
We have some practice instructions to help with
running a smooth practice. Download and print them for your reference.

Sometimes there are parents waiting for their kids on the
bleachers. Get them involved with their kid's practice. It's a
great way to get some help at the same time bond with their
child and other players.
