Alas, the 2010 Baseball Season for Chino Hills has come to a close.  There was phenomenal pitching, key plays and clutch hits, including walk-off homerun wins.  This All Star Season demonstrated to everyone why Chino Hills has such great players and coaches that embody the sprit and knowledge of the game in all capacities.

Great Job Gentlemen!

As the Tournaments portion of season draws to a close we have had the opportunity to watch some fantastic and very close games.  A true testament to all of the players and coaches.

AA Results !!!!!!

AA Angels win their Division Tournament!!!!

After an initial few runs, the games became of game of pitching and defense in an aggressively played offense between the Red Sox and Angels.  The Angels were able to hold on to take the win.

AAA Results !!!!!!

AAA DBacks win their Division Tournament!!!!

In a pitching duel that pitted the the AAA Padres against the AAA DBacks, phenomenal plays were made by both teams.  In the end the DBacks win.

Majors Results !!!!!!

Majors Yankees win their Division Tournament!!!!

The final game came down to two teams that played very smart baseball the entire tournament,  the Red Sox and Yankees.  Going into the final & very last round of the Championship games,  no one really knew how it would turn out...  In the end - Yankees win the Majors Tournament.

Challenger League

We want to say thanks to all of the players and families that helped in both Challenger games this season.  This was a great opportunity for all players that participated in the games.  The Challenger League is coordinated by our sister Little League, Canyon Hills, and we help out by supporting the various games throughout the season.

Great Job Guys!!!

December 15, 2007 - A Message from CHHS Coach Kyle Billingsley

Chino Hills High School coach Kyle Billingsley took some time to share his thoughts regarding the advantages of playing Little League baseball...

Parents,

I wanted to take a minute to emphasize the importance of Little League baseball, specifically Chino Hills Little League. As a former Chino Hills Little League, Division 1 College, and professional baseball player, and now, for the past 10 years as a high school coach, I have experienced what works and does not work for the players whose goal it is to play at the next level.  The first step in baseball, as in any area, is the most important. This step is Little League baseball.

In the times of travel ball, multiple leagues, and various tournaments offered year-round to players at a young age, it is important that their first experience with baseball is a positive one. I have seen first hand the positive effects Chino Hills Little League has had on this aspect of the players' careers:

Positive atmosphere of fair play and good sportsmanship
Protection from over-use injuries and close attention paid to avoid burn-out at a young age.
A long history of established rules, guidelines, and traditions that work and prepare the players for high school baseball.
Chino Hills Little League managers attend coaching clinics put on by their feeder school, Chino Hills High, in order for the players to learn techniques and drills that will be used at the high school they will try-out for.
The chance to reach the Little League World Series, which many current and former Big League players played in when they were young
Over 80% of the players who have made the Chino Hills High School Baseball team have played Chino Hills Little League.

In the past 10 years of coaching in Chino Hills and as a resident of Chino Hills for the past 30 years, I have seen travel teams start and then fold, leagues branch off and then struggle to produce quality players. The only constant has been the Little League system producing the areas top high school players. These players did not burn out at an early age from over-use, or have their career cut short by a preventable injury. They were the players who understand the concepts of team, fair play, hard work, and dedication. Sadly, these concepts are becoming rare in the players entering high school while at the same time these are the qualities we are looking for in our Chino Hills High school players.

Some of the best childhood memories of most parents were from their participation in Little League. As a Chino Hills Little League alumnus, this is most definitely true for me. I encourage all parents to continue to support Chino Hills Little League baseball because it is the most important step in the young career of our players and helps put them on the path to success with us at Chino Hills High School.
