Equipment Exchange Outlet

Do you have a player that may have outgrown a bat, but it is still in perfectly good condition?

Just starting out but not sure you want to spend a small fortune on a bat or glove?

Want to try a different bat or have an extra glove just in case the one your player has gets lost (and they will!) but not interested in breaking a new one mid season?

Chances are you either have some equipment or need some equipment in good condition.  Why not post it or look for it on Chino Hills Little League's Equipment Exchange Outlet?

At the Exchange Outlet, for a very small fee, you can post pictures and descriptions about equipment you want to sell, and set your price.  All fees paid to post your product information go towards Chino Hills Little League and help defray the cost to the league

Take the link over to the Outlet to see what there already.  If you find something you like, contact the seller and go from there...

Brought to you by Chino Hills Little League.

December 15, 2007 - A Message from CHHS Coach Kyle Billingsley

Chino Hills High School coach Kyle Billingsley took some time to share his thoughts regarding the advantages of playing Little League baseball...

Parents,

I wanted to take a minute to emphasize the importance of Little League baseball, specifically Chino Hills Little League. As a former Chino Hills Little League, Division 1 College, and professional baseball player, and now, for the past 10 years as a high school coach, I have experienced what works and does not work for the players whose goal it is to play at the next level.  The first step in baseball, as in any area, is the most important. This step is Little League baseball.

In the times of travel ball, multiple leagues, and various tournaments offered year-round to players at a young age, it is important that their first experience with baseball is a positive one. I have seen first hand the positive effects Chino Hills Little League has had on this aspect of the players' careers:

Positive atmosphere of fair play and good sportsmanship
Protection from over-use injuries and close attention paid to avoid burn-out at a young age.
A long history of established rules, guidelines, and traditions that work and prepare the players for high school baseball.
Chino Hills Little League managers attend coaching clinics put on by their feeder school, Chino Hills High, in order for the players to learn techniques and drills that will be used at the high school they will try-out for.
The chance to reach the Little League World Series, which many current and former Big League players played in when they were young
Over 80% of the players who have made the Chino Hills High School Baseball team have played Chino Hills Little League.

In the past 10 years of coaching in Chino Hills and as a resident of Chino Hills for the past 30 years, I have seen travel teams start and then fold, leagues branch off and then struggle to produce quality players. The only constant has been the Little League system producing the areas top high school players. These players did not burn out at an early age from over-use, or have their career cut short by a preventable injury. They were the players who understand the concepts of team, fair play, hard work, and dedication. Sadly, these concepts are becoming rare in the players entering high school while at the same time these are the qualities we are looking for in our Chino Hills High school players.

Some of the best childhood memories of most parents were from their participation in Little League. As a Chino Hills Little League alumnus, this is most definitely true for me. I encourage all parents to continue to support Chino Hills Little League baseball because it is the most important step in the young career of our players and helps put them on the path to success with us at Chino Hills High School.
